If you can turn the winder spindle by hand then it is either the winder rubber worn down one side or there may be some residue on the rubber, take the top off and have a look, if the spindle does not move at all then it has probably seized but let me know, you can email me but type in my address as you say it not as you read it because this site does not allow email addresses to be shown.
