how do i remove steering rack on a 05 renault megane?

i need to replace steering rack on my renault megane, i have disconnected track rods, also the 2 main bolts and steering column clamp, its the electric type so is easy, i thought! its now completley free but i cant get it out, do you have to lower subframe or is there a knack to it. suggestions greatly appriciated, thanks
