The starter motor is accessable from underneath the car. So you need to jack it up a good way and support it with axel stands. Looking up between the engine and the windscreen, it goes into the gearbox. One of the bolts holding is a gearbox bolt and is accessable from the top of the engine. This job is a real pain.
