Mend AEG 50750VI Dishwasher Aeg Flashing

aeg favorit 50750 vi - doesn't start?

when i switch it on and close the door it beeps as usual to indicate start but doesn't actually start, the two left lights on the display panel then start flashing. any ideas?

yeah there is water in the base, don't hear anything after the beep on closing the door
