Mend Ikea Ceiling Different

ceiling rose to different type of ceiling lamp?

I've just gone to fit a new ikea ceiling light, the diagram suggested (no giggles please) that I should have two wires coming out of my ceiling, obviously I five, theoretically I know what these five wires are for my question is do I need to just fix the rose back into the ceiling or can I change the the electrical part of the rose to a smaller type of electrical block?

You can change the rose internals to connector blocks, so long as you know what you are doing, and observe the connections strictly.....many people become unstuck with these conversions and personally I avoid them - unless I can reposition the original rose in the ceiling above. Fine in loft space....!
