My thread tension control is loose and won't tighten?

I have an electric Jones ZigZag machine which I inherited. It does not have a model number but is mainly fawn and cream and the hard lid cover has brown leaves over it. The knobs are chrome and the stitch control knob has a red insert at the front. The thread control knob falls out and does not tighten so the bobbin thread keeps knotting. Any suggestions what I can do?

Many thanks drivewithken. I have tried to tighten screw which is set inside the hole but it doesn't seem to tighten onto anything. I have even tried loosening the screw but nothing happens. I have held the control in place whilst tightening the screw but the control still comes out. I found a serial number 1348 under the base but not sure if this means anything. Any other suggestions?

Hello Wiggs,
Thge tension unit is either the screw in type where you just screw the unit in so it goes no further or if you open the faceplate just adjacent to the unit you will see a hole which is quite small but there will be a screw in it which you should tighten up, male sure the presser foot is nown.
