how can i fix my x box 360?

my sons xbox pr owned from game(& extras £200)had 3 red lights and i went on line and sent it back 2 microsoft thay said it has been tamperd with so i thought i need 2 get him a new 1 my friend told me 2 cover the xbox in towels lots of them so u can over heat the fan i thought rubish it wont work but what harm can it do i done it last night for 5 hours and it worked i turned it of let it cool down then put a game in and my son is a very happy chappyxx

ring of death its called try this it worked for me. open up your 360and completely remove inner circuit board from plastic frame.you will need certain tools for doing this. remove the two heat sink matrix inside. you will see two mpu chips. cover both with heat sink compound and replace matrix. replace all screws and replace the fan etc. if you cant get any heat sink compound try using copper grease which you can obtain cheeply from most car auto shops. as i said this has worked twice for me already and now doing the third one. good luck.
