Mend Renault Laguna 1.8 16v Timing Belt Engine

does it have a belt or chain?

my brother has just bought a renault laguna 1.8 16v the new shape with 70k on the clock I felt he should replace the belt if fitted to this engine but not sure if required on this engine.quickview of front of engine seems quite solid does not seem to have fairly removable crack covers so felt this might be chain driven . what do you think

yes it will need the cambelt kit and alternator belt also it would be good to change the alternator belt tensioner and idle roller,and the service is due at 72000 as well , the cambelt change will not be cheap either.
