Mend RF1 Thermostat Wireless Temperature

no lcd display?

We have just moved into a house with wireless RF1 system... both the red and green lights are on constantly on the unit but I cannot get any display on the thermostat units despite having changed the batteries. The heating has come on but not able to control temp at all or at least I dont know what it is. Any ideas???
