sony dav sb100 surround sound player sound fault?

i've had this player for about 5 years now and it's been great ,until the other day that is. after about 2minutes of switching it on the sound goes off,i tried switching it all off,then back on again,but it just does the same thing,sounds ok for about 2 minutes and then loses the sound again.be greatful for any feedback.thanks.
