Mend Rover 25 Power Loss Acceleration

my rover 25 loses power when cold?

when i start to drive my rover 25 w reg the engine loses power when cold as i exccelerate unless i bring the rev's up to about 3000 rpm and slip the clutch. when it gets warm it drives ok.
