Ford CD Radio RDS 6006e Error Codes?

I have just bought a used RDS 6006e cd radio when i fitted this to my car I found the radio worked fine but i cannot load cds the radio status says wait after pressing load but comes back with Error Code 3 what does this mean and can it be fixed?

according to the manual for this cd player error code 2 or 3 means 'clean the disc and try again. if error still shows, see your ford dealer' i guess this doesn't help much. i was looking on here for info relating to an error code 4!! good luck.
