how do i fit a light switch when all my wires are red?

hmm sounds like singles to me very popular in 60s 70s wiring if no earth present at switch or fittings do not fit metal accessories to this circuit only plastic is safe, get someone in who knows how to carry out continuity testing.

As Peccavi says, you need test equipment.

The person doing the testing will need a reference to earth, which you haven't mentioned in either of your questions.

If there are no markers on the wires, as Peccavi says, you are in over your head and you need to get an electrician in.

To connect up properly and for your own safety you need to be able to identify the source/destination of each wire particularly any wire carrying permanent live.

To do this you will need test equipment - the other alternative is to guess and there are hundreds of ways to go wrong.

An electricain or at the very least a knowledgeable friend with test equipment is your best solution.
