I have a fault light which comes on every so often which knocks the boiler off. When reset is pressed the boiler lights up & all is well again. The boiler is about 9 yrs old & has already had a new circuit board approx. 3-4 yrs ago. Could anyone point me in the right direction to the problem?

My suprima 60 did the same. It started as intermitant every month or so and got worse until it became permanently locked out.
I swapped the PCB for a reconditioned one from ADLINK. £35 andd 20 minutes work fixed the problem for good.
Adlink were the cheaest recon PCBs I cold find and they have a 1 year guarantee.

before looking at PCBs again it is quite common for the ignition lead to break down. fitting a new PCB usually cures the lock out problem as the new spark generator on the PCB is better than on the old boards. So hence first choice would be the lead, followed by the thermister on the flow pipe which sometimes need more heatsink grease or just work loose.

Had a new pcb fitted 3-4 yrs ago.
Sought advice from potterton helpline, they asked for a corgi no. (Which I didn`t have, but after a bit of pleading about not wanting to be ripped off by some dodgy plumber he transfered me to a technical advisor who told me it would be the overheat thermostat.
Gave me a part no. & told me to contact INTERPART.
Cost: £8:45 + vat.
Cost @ online spares shop: £20
