Failed to light up one day. Banged dashboard and came back on. Has anyone had similar experience?

Thanks to your site I gave my dash a thump and all is well again after three weeks of no dash at all.

Yes, we had same issue for several months, banging the dashboard only prolongs the awful day that it just wont come on at all, renault looking for around £1000 for replacement dashboard, the dash/circuit board assembly takes 5 mins to come out completely but without the knowledge or repair instructions I am unable to proceed with repair, have you found anyone who can assist?
