renault espace dashboard lights wont come on?

u will have to change dashboard.i had the same problem the circuit board was burned in couple spots soon as i changed the dash everything works fine.

From what i understand you can fix this by finding the break in the printed circuit board and solder a small wire over the break

depending on the year of your espace i have a 1998 R reg and the lights for the dash take their power from a printed curcuit board which can very easily get damaged and stop the current reaching the bulbs.

Another downside to this is that the connection between the bulb holder and the curcuit is very narrow so any play in the bulb holder and it will work one minute then be off the next.

I have secured mine with insulation tape to stop then from moving around. Which is just a short term fix!!

Daft as it sounds, is there a dimmer switch for the dash lights? It would be on the underside of the steering column.
