Broken glass got into my Insinkerator. What should I do?

DONT RUN MACHINE even after removing bits by hand or fourceps.
It is easy to remove the machine. Remeove plug from socket. Remove air switch connection if fitted.
Loosen off the waste pipe connection and push to one side. Un twist the machine at the top connection to the sink waste connection - anti clockwise- and the machine will come away in your hand. You can then remove the rubber cover splash gard from the top of machine and the glass will fall out when you tun upside down and shake it. Fill Machine with some water and shake and poor out. Do this several times to make sure it is cleaned out and refit machine in reverse order. John (plumber)
Done this few times as you can imagine. If you run machine even after most of glass is out of it it may damage grinding ring Etc:

Just had this problem... carefully retrieved the largest pieces by hand, then covered the drain and turned on the insinkerator. After a few seconds of harsh noise, all seems to be well. There still are tiny specks of glass inside the device, but I'm guessing water will wash them away over time.

Cover it with a lid and run the insinkerator. Broken glass is often used as a suggestion to sharpen the blades.
