hotpoint washer mod.wma22p first edition?

my washing machine has developed a noisy clunk which appears to come from inside the drumwhen you try to turn the drum by hand it goes tight in one spot then frees itself what might this be then how do i access it

bearing have broke up internally and are catching as you rotate the drum or the spider assembly could have a broken arm(s) causing the drum to drag either way needs a strip down to investigate the problem
