Microsoft Money doesn't work anymore?

Hi, got Money 2002 which worked perfectly on my laptop when first installed.
Then I was told to reformat laptop as so messy and start from scratch. I did this but ever since Money will not work properly. It takes forever to record transactions, and constantly freezes on me.
My laptop is Acer Aspire 5051. 2GB ram (my brother added this when first bought and worked fine).
Hope this is enough info to help me fix this?
If not please can you tell me what else you need and will get.
Really rely on this program and can't find any reason why it won't work properly anymore, especially since is same laptop, just reformatted.
