Mend Subaru 96 Fuel Pump Not Working

Fuel pump not working?

Classic 96 subaru, is it possible that the fuel pump can go wrong other than the electric motor as i have taken of inlet pipe to filter can hear motor running with ignition on but no fuel comig from pipe. Thanks Pete
