Put my water on in morning at timer. After about an hour boiler will cut out and stop heating water. Turn boiler off at timer and then boiler comes back on and thus on is off and off becomes on at timer. Only way it rectifies itself is to drain all hot water from tank and them on becomes on again and off is off as it should be.
what you have written doesn't make mush sense. if your water cylinder is hot then the boiler should cut out as it is hot enough, and it'll obviously turn back if your timer is on when you drain it as it will fill back up with cold water and need heating.
