how do i put the oven door back on - Hotpoint?

I accidentally took the oven door off and now I cant get it back on. It is an older Hotpoint / GE / camco model ks839jw-1. The manufacturers website is no help and neither is their 1-800 number. There are two metal pieces on the door, the top one is fixed and has a hook on the end. The bottom one moves. There are two slots in the oven to put them into but they dont just slide in. Thanks for any help
