Cuisinart DLC-7 super pro?

the white plastic at the back -- I think pushes the rod down for contact so that the machine would work -- fell off tonight. I don't have any idea how or where to put it back on. Can anybody help? I see that there are new lids for sale on line but don't really want to order one because I have not used the machine for awhile and don't even know if the motor would still work.
