What's wrong with my cooker?

What has happened to my cooker? It is electrolux model no.EKT6045x. The cooker will not turn on but the oven will. There is a quick flash of the indicator button lights and a second or two later the turn on beep.
This was fine yesterday.

Did you get this problem fixed? Ours has just started doing the same thing.
- Was fine then a couple of times did the start up / shut down thing like you described on the hob only.
