is my steam buggy broken?

I have the steam buggy steamer that Ive only used about 4 times since 2002. I went to use it recently and the steam wouldnt come out of the hose(just a little did) and seemed to be coming out of where you fill teh water in it. that cap was on really tight. there also seemed to be some corrosion inside that i emptied out where the water goes. is it completely broken now? I dont think the seal has any problems-it just seems clogged where the steam is supposed to go to the hose.I am afraid to let it run to see if it unclogs in case it blows up.
