How do I remove the base from my Tiffany Breadmaker?

Having removed all 5 screws to remove the base from my Tiffany Breadmaker so that I can replace the drive belt, the base unfortunately will not budge.

I'm reluctant to use too much force which might damage the plastic base.

Any suggestions?
