Mend John Deere Gear Ride Mower

John Deere only has low speed in fast gear?

When using my John Deere ride on mower putting the lever in to fast (Rabbit) speed does nothing to increase the speed of the mowers movement forward - putting it into Slow (Turtle) does reduce the speed but marginally - any suggestions please

John Deere Garden Tools, Lawn Mowers Gear Ride Mower

I have the same problem with my McCulloch ride-on. The engine is OK, starts first time. I have fitted a new drive belt but that has not helped. In 4th gear this mower used to race around the garden but now it is really slow. Any ideas anyone ?
