How to load xp help files from recovery disc?

when you get to the recovery console type help and a list will appear.
i had the same sort of problem have you set the hdd up with the floppy that came with it???

on the list is is stuff like fixmbr (fix master boot record) ect do as i did load all it may take a while but it sorted out my pc. also there should be an opption to fix windows xp files in one go but with out knowing what pc you have its hard to tell mine was a emachine. hope this may help a little (best of luck) jay
