POWER LOSS?

I have a 1996 transit that has the same problem, engine light comes on and power is lost, sometimes i can switch the engine off and restart it and it comes back to life, stripped the EGR valve down and cleaned it up and thats working fine but the problem is still there

Fault code showing up as p1176 cam calibration fault, any ideas how to fix this
