how can i fix john deeRe riding mower 240?

the pto will not engage, the switch is good, what do i do now?

See that the wires that go to the PTO clutch haven't been pulled away with twigs etc. If they are still there, check for 12 volts at them with the PTO switch on. If there is still no joy, expect the PTO clutch to need replacing.
