My lap-top will not run with Battery even when it is at 100%?

Hi there, I have a Samsung VM8000 it runs fine when plugged in with the charger, when I check the battery the Meter indicates that it is at 100% but when the charger is removed it will only work for a few minutes and switches off, rechecking the battery it is at 100%, any help would be greatly appreciated Kind regards Peter
