I called a mobile car lock specialist, he had a little inflatable bag with a puffer. He slid it down the window opening and puffed the pufer and the door bulged open enough to get a hook into the mechanism. Very cool.

usually have to get panel off best as you can and prize back to see door mechanism to lift lever for exterior door handle with screwdriver. might break your door panel but not much else you can do.
