repair broken throttle cable on outboard yamahamotor?

throttle cable is freyed in several areas can it be spliced together?

yes it can i done it with a larger pipe and slit ends and clamped them tight and have been running it that way for 10 yrs cables are getting very pricey and this way maybe 5 dollar fix but make sure u take black tape and wrap it good keep rust from building up

If I were you I'd buy another £20 on ebay. I tried to repair mine and it made it very stiff to operate.
