Mend Sony SLV-D930 Set Including Machine

Is my SLV D930 repairable?

When I set Run or Rewind with any tape including a new one the machine just thinks for a minute then reluctantly half obeys for maybe a few seconds then stops. Is there someone out there who might be able to point me in the right direction, or should I junk it?
