Can the the power cord on my JCB-HT60600f hedge strimmer be joined up again using a connection of something?

JCB JCB HT60600f D.I.Y, Gardening Power Cable Cord

You can buy joint boxes from DIY stores. Basically its a small plastic box with a connector block and cable clamps inside. Should only be a few quid.
