Is my Brandt frost free uprright freezer on its last legs?

My freezer which is frost free has the red light on all the time. This happened couple weeks ago and I thought it was overheating so I moved it away from the wall to allow more air to circulate thinking this was the problem. It continued to work properly for the next two weeks but I have just restocked and the same thing is happening again. There is also a build up of ice on the front panel at the top and on the baskets. What is wrong?
