My trousers where just a tad too long for some shoes I was wearing and I 'walked off' a bit of the hemming creating a frayed look, of which looks fine on a pair of jeans, but on my nice "work" trousers not so much - what is the best way to repair this without having to make the trousers shorter because I like the length with most of my other shoes if that makes any sense ;)
Cut off the 'turn up' including the frayed bits. Then sew on some same colour bias binding keeping the stiching on the crease line of the binding. They will be shorter but not too much if careful.
