ice dispenser crushes ice even when on cube setting?

My LG fridge/freezer GR-L207QVJA has a choice of setting for ice cubes or crushed ice. Recently it has started crushing ice no matter which setting is used. I have tried switching off to reset the computer but that was not successful.
