You may have the right to access a social networking site.

The school, on the other hand has a right to do what it likes with its own property.

You CAN access social networking sites if you are a) enough of a luser and b) using your own computer and Internet connection (or maybe leeching on the one belonging to your parents)

Students.Rights.Org will say...

"The European Freedom of Information Act guarantees your right to connect to a social networking site.

Have your parent or guardian write a polite letter to the school requesting the access you seek."

Others might say...
"studentsrights.org you are talking absolute nonsense...if our kids could access all of the garbage that exists on the web, do you honestly think thats a good idea? If you do, I suggest you train to become a teacher and you'll soon realise the need for child protection should be paramount."
