Bought a camper van the previous owner, said the fridge worked on 12volts and mains, but had never been on gas, bought the camper to attend bike rallys no hook up so put it on gas, would not work. took it out and stripped it down. the pilot light is directed to a heat-exchanger, this was made up with rust, cleaned it out, also a baffle dangles down the flue, to direct heat to the fridge side this too rusted up. all cleaned out, and put back. Has 3 heat settings. However freezer compartment will only work on 2 and 3 will freeze stellas if left in over night.
My van works off the blue gas bottles was told that if I changed to the orange ones the gas is hotter and will work in cold weather as the gas in the blue ones will freeze if used for a winter jaunt.
