control panel on hotpoint ultima WF840 washing machine?

Control panel flashing as is the little neon above the start stop nuttonand a ticking noise when end is in control panel the door opened and was ok
What has caused this, how can it be fixed

What if your machine seems to be stuck in a Test mode and wont wash?

Stop the "TEST" cycle by holding down the "START/CANCEL" Button.
("Test" should disappear off the display)
Then hold down "START/CANCEL" & "ON/OFF" at the same time for a few seconds.
The message "d:Off" should appear in the display. Everything should work now
