Mend Sony Bravia Fault Tv Sound

Sony Bravia lcd KDL-S40A 12U switch on Fault?

My tv, details above has a fault. When i switch it on you can here sound for a round a few seconds, then there is a crack like noise and it switches itself off.
This model is around 4years old and was the first 40" Lcd around at the time of purchase.
Dose not seem to be any other issues.
