Mend Whirlpool Problem Start Clicking

oven ignition - flame problem?

when my whirlpool oven is alight - after a few mins the ignition will start clicking and the flame drops, i have to open the oven door and the flame then flares up and the clicking stops ? how can i stop this ? also i cant use the grill as is has a funny sort of burning smell when i do ! please help
