Mend Singer 2001 Red Light

The twin needle symbol won't turn off on my Singer touch tronic 2001?

The red light above the symbol for twin needle is on and the instruction manual says to just touch the symbol again to turn it off and go back to regular mode. When I touch it again it beeps but the red indicator light won't go off. Can anybody help?

Hello Melanie,
there may be an electrical fault and only an engineer that specializes in electronic or computerized machines will be able to help, it is possible that the main board has 'gone sweaty' and it will need cleaning with special fluid, not a job for the novice.
