Start problem?

I recently purchased a 2001 RC Alize Automatic. Have had start problems ever since. Today though, it won't start at all, even though the engine is turning, the little red light keeps flashing. I tried both keys to no avail. I called out my breakdown and they confirmed it was a key reading error and wanted to whip the car of to Renault dealers, as they said only they can give you a full diagnostic should it be a programme fault also. I risked having a key cut at a very good place who after ringing Renault (£150 per key) recommended me to try here first. The key cut did no more than the other 2 keys, £35 down the drain but hey it opens the doors!
We have changed the battery, so it's definetely not that. In fact it seems that everyone seems to be having the same problem.
Very interested to hear from anyone who knows ways to bypass the immobiliser. Thanks.
