Brandt fridge/freezer ?

I have a Brandt fridge/freezer which is about four years old and I have found that I had to defrost it because of the icing up and as has been said this appears to be an inherent fault with this brand. Whilst I was away I was told that it had stopped working so I gave instructions over the phone. Anyway none of this appears to have worked. On arriving home I checked the plugs, fuses etc but nothing has happened except the light still comes on but thats all. I think it must have died. Any suggestions on how to fix it?
