Mend Simpson Tumble Dryer Drum Belt Tension Pulley

how do i put the tension pulley and spring back on the drum belt?

the drum belt broke on our simpson dryer and when it came to replacing it I found the tensioner pulley and spring on the bottom of the dryer and cant put it back as it should be . I have tried every way I could think of, I know the spring goes over the safety switch but the tensioner bracket doesnt stay in position.
