lights keep coming when indicating left?

you need to replace your comm 2000 unit. peugeot have had lots of problems with these, so much so the original manufactuers went bankrupt. and the problems your having is typical of the whole indicator/lights/wipers/airbag rotary switch, unit gone faulty. they cost around £150.

A bad earth connection on an indicator can't possibly make the lights come on - not in this universe or in any parallel universe. A bad earth on an indicator, if it happens, will stop the indicator from working it will not magically switch power to the headlights.

The indicator stalk on your car probably has a secondary function of flashing the headlights - this secondary headlight switch is the most probable cause of your problem... else...

You have an intermittent short between the indicator circuit and the light circuit (doubtful but possible). Put the indicators on and wriggle wiring harnesses while someone watches the lights for you.

(1)bad earth connection on indicators light units find earths and clean back to bare metal .
(2) indicator arm may be faulty /broken contacts replacement possibly needed
cheapest option number (1) half hr of your time
other option will need to part with some CASH
