no car has a gearbox reservoir manual gearbox's can have a set amount put in or can be usually filled (on the level )to the level of a nut thread mounted on the side of the gearbox any excess oil then runs out.
automatic boxes you fill down the dip stick hole small funnel/tun dish required and use the marks on the dip stick
