Is it the engine management light? If so you need to get the codes read.
Depending on the model year you may be able to do it yourself. You'll need a pen and paper.
Press down the brake and accelerator pedals (accelerator right to the floor) and keep them down.
Turn ignition on ( dash lights on, don't start engine).
The EM light should start to flash. Count the flashes in groups of four.
For example, 10 flashes, short gap, 3 flashes, short gap, 4 flashes, short gap, 10 flashes-- longer gap-- 10 flashes, short gap, 1 flash, short gap, 2 flashes, short gap, 10 flashes, longer gap.
It will keep flashing until all codes are done then start at the beginning again.
The codes above would be 10-3-4-10, then 10-1-2-10.
As 10 flashes represent zero, that gives us 0340 and 0120.
0340 = camshaft sensor
0120 = Throttle Potentiometer Sensor (TPS)
If this method works post up the codes you get. If it doesn't you'll have to go to a garage or diagnostics specialist.
Alternatively, buy a code reader or diagnostic software such as op-com.
